As our Quality Manager for Taubate, Brazil manufacturing flavors facility, you will provide outstanding leadership and direction to ensure optimal product quality and effectiveness for achieving total customer satisfaction as well as ensuring manufactured product conforms to the stated quality standards and all processes are in compliance with Food Safety, GMP and other standards as defined by the IFF Global Quality framework.
This role is part of operations of the site and will have frequent contact with all the main site functions Production, Warehouse, Engineering, Purchasing etc.
Quality Manager will have direct responsibility for all testing (Sensory and Analytical) and managing the statutory and customer requirements.
Direct the Quality Control Sensory, Analytical, Raw Materials and Microbiological labs ensuring timely and accurate information on both raw materials and finished good products as well as directing the identification, resolution and response to customer dissatisfaction issues related to analytical / sensory results and specification issues by investigating, evaluating and determining all process solutions.
Provide technical guidance regarding new product initiatives and process / product modifications to Procurement, Flavor Creation and Application and Operations in addition to new analytical / sensorial methodologies.
Manage site quality improvement plan. Drive quality metric goals achievement. Provide site oversight and leadership to ensure effective analysis, investigation, and resolution of internal and external quality notifications.
Initiate and lead the discussion with customers pertaining to quality scope, resolutions, continuous improvement.
Ensure effective selection, training, development and motivation of the Quality Control staff. Manage site Quality Issue Resolution and Improvement, Site Quality Programs and Systems Manages the review, maintenance, implementation, and improvement of site quality programs and systems (Food Safety, HACCP, GMP, Allergens, ISO, etc).
Develops and executes the site audit plan. Coordinates all site customer audits and resulting improvement plans as well as translating customer’s requirements to IFF regarding business, system and best practices.
Work with the key stakeholders to ensure resolution of issues identified on the audits Perform certified vendor audits.
Bachelor degree in Chemistry, Microbiology, Food Service or related field with 10 years’ experience in Quality Control and Quality Assurance / Management and 5 years supervisory or managerial experience;
Strong English proficiency and desirable Spanish skills;
Extensive background in Quality Systems, Laboratory Management and Sensory Evaluation;
Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills both verbally and written to properly address all levels within the organization as well as external customers, vendors and suppliers;
Demonstrated ability to develop talent is highly preferred;
Strong computer knowledge with such systems as SAP, ISO and Microsoft Office products is preferred.
10 years’ experience in Quality Control and Quality Assurance / Management and 5 years supervisory or managerial experience;
