Job Description

Manage the installation and upgrade activities for VMS products, within the assigned area, by planning and coordinating the optimal use of company and external resources, in order to provide the highest level of service, maximize customer satisfaction and achieve financial objectives.

Ensures adequate records and systems are maintained. Identifies and implements improvements in installations for cost reduction and customer satisfaction.

  • Maintains close communication with Sales and Service management to ensure a smooth handover and continued customer support.
  • Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function. Applicable to the Oncology Systems business only : Position must have full access to VMS client sites to perform the essential functions of this position.

    Many VMS clients require VMS employees and representatives to meet certain Vendor Credentialing requirements before they will be allowed to have access to their sites.

    Unless prohibited by law, position must meet all Vendor Credentialing requirements necessary to have full client access, and must continue to meet those requirements during the course of VMS employment in this position.

  • Performs all required management responsibilities including but not limited to : implementing the company's policies, programs, and guidelines;
  • ensuring employee productivity and growth; managing resources; knowing Varian's business; and maintaining functional, technical, and external market awareness necessary for managing immediate organization.

    Establishes and manages work programs for turnkey installation and upgrades of VMS products for all parties involved (VMS departments and third party sub-

    contractors), in order to ensure that installations are completed according to specifications and schedule and that customers can sign the Acceptance Letters.

    Teams with other departments (local Sales, Service, Applications, Order Processing, Product Support, Manufacturing, etc.

    to provide them the necessary technical support in installations and optimize customer relations. Establishes installation budgets and monitors financial performance, to ensure financial objectives are achieved within agreed budgets and with maximum cost effectiveness.

    Manages the regular reporting of all installation and upgrade information (records of work performed, technical problems, actions taken and parts employed), to ensure accurate, updated customer installation information is available to all VMS parties.

    Job Requirements

    Minimum Required Skills and Knowledge Ability, competence, and confidence to lead people. Effective interpersonal skills.

    Required Certifications and Training Obtains and completes LMS training plan specific to assigned responsibility. Applicable to the Oncology Systems business only : Meets all Vendor Credentialing requirements necessary to gain VMS client site access, unless prohibited by law.

    These requirements vary by client and may include, but are not limited to : o Proof of valid identification (photo, driver’s license, SSN) o Criminal background checks o Drug screens o Immunizations (Hep B, MMR, Varicella, Influenza, Tetanus) o Annual TB testing o Healthcare trainings Experience Level with Business Tools Proficient in utilizing business tools such as : E-

    mail, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience with SAP or equivalent ERP product and productivity software desired.

    Bachelors Degree or equivalent. 10 years of related experience. 5 years management experience.
