Amazon Brazil Team is looking for a program manager to play an important role within the team. Reporting to the lead Program Manager, this person will have the following responsibilities :

  • Support and own the upcoming projects and work through all related dependencies with internal and external teams, including the local technology team.
  • Act as liaison between different teams (international and local technical, tax, finance, operations teams) to ensure activities are synced and information flowing.
  • Keep leadership communicated about key project issues and actively work with responsible teams on identifying and solving paths to green.
  • Create and lead go-live plans, end to end user testing cases, ensuring all retail business teams have their launch goals created and delivered on time.
  • Ensure the team is focused on the highest value activities and business issues that would be critical path for launch.
  • Ensure the effectiveness of key leadership meetings by managing agenda and by ensuring the most important topics are being framed and considered properly.
  • Regularly poll the team in advance for their hot-points and creating the appropriate agenda.
  • Support teams in BR needing help thinking through problems (both business and technical).
  • Create and control the project document depository and make sure teams are following proper documentation of their activities and decisions.
  • The successful candidate will be a person who enjoys and excels at dealing with ambiguity and design and define programs with conflicting or little information.

    He / She will have excellent composure, written and verbal communication skills, the ability to create and sustain urgency, and a proven ability to lead large cross-

    functional tech / business projects including communication across all levels and teams in the organization : senior leaders, technical teams, finance, fulfillment, and business leaders.

  • 3-7 years of experience in managing medium to large programs, managing deadline and communicating with stakeholders.
  • Technical but not a software developer. Understand functional specifications, and can discuss issues with technical teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to be a big picture thinker, strategist and long-term planner.
  • Strong communication skills in English, including the ability to effectively manage, influence, negotiate and communicate with external business partners and internal teams to meet operational performance goals.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize workloads, maintain a strong attention to detail and work independently in a fast-
  • paced and rapidly changing environment.

  • Excellent project management skills with a proven ability to design workable solutions and drive projects to successful implementation.
  • Demonstrated bias for action and ability to handle complex and ambiguous scenarios.
  • Ability to manage conflicting priorities - capability to work on several projects in parallel.
  • Completed Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from preferably a top-tier Computer Science or Business school.
  • Project management experience that shows how to organize find solutions and follow through to a successful conclusion
  • Strong analytical and data gathering skills, including the ability to translate large amounts of data into actionable insights
  • Can adapt well to changing circumstances, direction, and strategy
