Responsible for providing controllership and leadership in accordance to US GAAP and BR GAAP, for all accounting and associated reporting activities for Pall do Brasil entity and it businesses.
These businesses include, Life Science (LS) and Fluid Technology and Asset Protection (FTAP). The position will also support the (BU) leadership and serve as a Business Partner with Latam’s Commercial Sales and Operation leadership in shaping the strategic direction of the business.
He / she will be the main person to coordinate with the local Finance team for their accounting to ensure compliance to Danaher and Pall’s accounting policies.
The position will also be responsible for financial statement preparation / reporting (processes, systems, and timeline) and compliance (internal controls, audit and balance sheet reviews) aspects.
The position will also be responsible for proper accruals and coordinate with the Danaher / Pall Corporate and his / her staff in the preparation for all balance sheet account reconciliations as needed.
The position will also be responsible for budgeting and forecasting for this entity and coordinate all activities as needed with the Company’s Corporate FP&A team.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
Acts as Brazil Accounting responsible (local statutory requirements), including Accounting and Fiscal Reports to the Government.
Manage BRGAAP and USGAAP accounting closing, monthly statutory reports and Financial Reporting process via Hyperion.
Manage Finance Services in Brazil : Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Tax and Treasury, coordinating local processes in Brazil and managing the team.
Prepare and review Cash flow Reports (Forecast & Actual).
Coordinate SAP implementation project or developments as needed.
Lead and assist Pricing and product margin analysis with valuable financial inputs.
Review import / export financial and tax aspects according to current legislation.
Responsible for financial planning process for annual Budgets and bimonthly Forecasts.
Interprets financially operating results and make specific recommendations, which will result in cost reductions and profit improvement.
Develop / monitor operational financial metrics, perform analysis of actual results versus budgets and working with the Sales and Operations leadership to highlight major points of interest and providing insight as to all significant variances to budget, prior quarter, and comparison to prior year results.
Responsible for Direct and Indirect Taxes compliance according to local legislation.
Leads Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) compliance controls in accordance with Pall company requirements.
Establish and implement Policies according to Corporate Finance Policies.
Periodic Third Party Warehouse and Inventory controls process review and Excess & Obsolescence according to company policy.
Work with operations and engineers to understand the drivers causing the budget versus actual variances providing recommendations and corrective actions when necessary.
Assist in inventory and fixed asset validation.
Comply with all Internal / External audit requirements and quality Balance Sheet reviews.
Provide coach to subordinates, monitoring development of required competencies, giving feedback on performance and setting improvement plans where required.
Promote an organizational culture that encourages high performance, compliance and absolute integrity as the rule for the business.
Leads, motivates and develops talent within the organization including, but not limited to, immediate direct reports by coaching, counseling, engaging, and evaluating associate performance
Performs other related activities as required locally and by Corporate Finance;
Understands and complies with all company Safety, Finance and HR policies and procedures.
BS degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related areas. Post-graduation desired. From 9 to 12 years of increased responsibilities and professional experience in US GAAP Accounting, Finance / Costs and Inventory areas;
At least 2 to 5 years managing finance team.
Knowledge of SAP required.
Knowledge of Hyperion (HFM) a plus.
Proficient in Excel and other Microsoft Office Package (Word, Powerpoint, Outlook);
Dynamic profile and be prepared to adopt the dynamic and fast-paced culture;
Well organized and be able to handle several multi-tasks simultaneously;
Strong business development and project management skills demonstrated by relevant work history;
Strong ability to articulate and clearly communicate the business leaders and senior management team strategy;
Internal controls and SOX skills;
Prior proven people leadership experience.
Excellent financial analysis and financial management skills.
BR GAAP and US GAAP accounting knowledge with active CRC (CPA is a plus);
Excellent communications skills written and verbal in Portuguese and English. Spanish desired;
