The successful candidate will be responsible for the following : Perform and / or oversee technical analyses for habitat restoration, water resources management including supply, conveyance, treatment and storage, dam management, and / or stormwater projects.
Prepare and review written reports and technical studies.Develop and review engineering drawings, technical specifications, and opinions of probable cost.
Manage the development and successful completion of projects for our existing clients.Work with other senior water resources staff to identify and develop new projects and clients, prepare proposals, and capture new work.
Develop scopes of work, budgets, and schedules for projects, and track their progress.Visit project sites to scope potential projects, perform site assessments, and oversee construction (potential for regional and national travel up to 10% of the time).
What Are We Looking For?Master’s Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering (or equivalent) is preferred.North Carolina PE or ability to get reciprocity in North Carolina.
8+ years of experience in planning-consulting, designing, permitting, implementing, and managing water resource projects, with experience in grading and drainage (civil engineering) desirable (dams, stream mitigation, stormwater, industrial waste water setting, storm water, storm water runoff controls)Experience with a diverse range of hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) modeling and design software packages, including AutoCAD Civil 3D, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, HydroCAD, StormCAD, or other similar / related programs.
Experience preparing or leading engineering drawings, permitting, technical specifications, and opinions of probable cost for water resource projects.
Skills to assist with proposals and business development efforts, including implementation of strategic initiatives related to water resources and flood resiliencyExperience managing projects and interfacing with clients.
Strong leadership and mentoring skills.Self-motivation, drive, and ability to work both independently and in a collaborative team.
