Data’ is a new function within Group IT with the goal to unlock the power of data for the full Volvo Group to become a fully data-driven company! With data, the core component of our transformation journey, we will, together with our data talents, make the Volvo Group 2030 vision happen.

We will take care of all the aspects of Data, how it is quality assured, documented, made available, prepared and consumed through BI, Analytics and Machine Learning.

We have an ambitious transformation in front of us, with an implementation of the Data Layer in Azure as well as the reinforcement of Data Governance and Data Management in the full Group.

We are looking for Data Engineers to support our data and productization journey to the cloud. You will contribute to our top-notch cloud projects focusing on the development of data pipelines in Azure Data Factory and Databricks.

We have the ambition to make sure that data analytics is appropriately embedded in all business processes. You will join our agile product team focusing on creating business value through digital products.

You will contribute to enabling new, data-driven services working on the following activities :

Build complex data pipelines in Microsoft Azure

Optimize existing data pipelines

Support in building the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources to Azure

Work closely with data analysts to provide required data structures

Keep the data secure across the end-to-end solutions

Evaluate and improve existing data analytics solutions

Collaborate with teams to integrate systems

This is you :

Highly motivated individuals with a passion for data

You are degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering or any related field

Data & Engineering has been your world for 3-5 years now

You have strong ETL skills

Databases (like SQL server or Netezza) don’t have any secret for you

Ideally, you are familiar with one of the Visualization tools (BO, Power BI)

You are comfortable working in a diverse, complex and fast-changing landscape of data sources

You are proactive problem solvers with innovative thinking and a strong team player

Excellent communication skills in English

Development Skills & Methodologies

Experience with Agile Methodologies

Experience with Informatica PowerCenter

Experience with Data Analysis and Data Modeling (Data Warehouse)

Knowledge of Cloud Azure, Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Azure DevOps

Knowledge of Power BI (back and front end)

Extras good to have :

Knowledge of other services and tools used to ETL workflows, such as Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services and SSIS

Familiarity with database management systems, online analytical processing (OLAP)

Knowledge in Advanced Analytics related programming language : Python, Pyspark
