Reporting to the International Controller located in Canada and leading a team of Finance staff in Sao Paulo and Mexico City, the LATAM Controller is responsible for legal entity financial reporting and statutory compliance for the Brazil and Mexico based subsidiaries of the company.
The Director will also support the US GAAP financial close through the financial review and assurance processes. In addition, the local Controller will have a role within the local management team supporting the Latin America business operation and growth.

Responsible for local GAAP financial statements and regulatory filings : oAssist and support the local 3rd party accounting firms in the execution of their local financial and government reporting responsibilitiesoAssist with the documentation of local country GAAP adjustmentsoProvide supporting material for tax compliance requirements and working closely with the 3rd party accountants to ensure all tax filing are prepared accurately and on time
Ensure reconciliations are prepared and supported for the following areas : oBalance Sheet reconciliations oReconciliation between US GAAP and local GAAP accountsoTax accounts
Provides general support and information to the business as requestedoPerform cash flow and intercompany analysisoEnsure transfer pricing transactions adhere to agreements and related taxation is properly accounted for
Liaison with the Global Finance team (Corporate Accounting, AR, AP, Order Entry, Payroll) to ensure the accuracy of financial information for internal / external reporting and to mitigate any potential risk / liability.
10 years of related finance and accounting experience in a technology environment.
Excellent interpersonal skills; capable of communicating in professional and courteous manner with peers, customers, vendors and management.
Strong understanding of US GAAP and BR GAAP
Detail, deadline and results oriented with strong analytical skills.
Proven self-starter with the ability to balance multiple tasks of competing priorities in a changing and dynamic environment.
Must have advanced Excel skills. Working knowledge of Access is an asset.
Proficient in MS Office applications and hands on experience in Great Plains, SAP, BPC and Oracle.
Excellent oral and written English / Portuguese communication skills
Proven ability to perform under tight timelines in a fast-paced environment.
Has obtained or in the process of obtaining an accounting designation (CPA, CA, CMA, CGA or CRC). BA / BS Degree in Accounting, Finance, MBA or related major.
