Amazon is seeking a highly-intelligent, high-judgment, self-motivated and creative communications business advisor to join our operations communication team.

This role will support Brazil Operations how packages are fulfilled and delivered to customers. . The role will be responsible for managing strategic external communications, executive communications, community relations and influencer strategy for the Ops Organization in Brazil in order to strengthen the reputation of Amazon Operations.

  • This role will provide strategic communication counsel to cross-functional partners on a wide range of complex topics, manage issues, changes, and crisis communications;
  • and execute on external communications, programs, and experiences.

    The person in this role will create and adapt playbook campaigns specific to Brazil and develop a regular cadence of external communication.

    This role will also develop influencer campaigns and how to infuse those campaigns into media relations plans and launches.

    The ideal candidate will insist on the highest standards, be right a lot, dive deep into details, have a strong bias for action, sense of ownership and deliver results, distill information to find common threads between projects, and be energized by juggling priorities.

    They’ll keep composure in fast-moving situations, embrace ambiguity and changing tides, be able to quickly get up to speed on complex issues, anticipate media and influencers questions / reactions, and quickly prepare thorough messaging strategies.

    It is ideal to have strong media contacts / relationships and the ability to work at internet-speed, create and deliver major campaigns, and a talent for collaboration and working independently.

    They should have experience over delivering results with high standards under tight deadlines. Creativity and flexibility are a must.

    Core job responsibilities :

  • Earn trust, provide counsel, and effectively communicate with a range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Develop innovative external communications strategies, clear narratives, and tactics that engage media and influencers.
  • Lead development and execution of communications for Ops campaigns.
  • Successfully manage complex, fast-moving, and unexpected communications challenges
  • Build and maintain relationships with key media and influencers both national and local in audience
  • Formulate a clear point of view on issues and create a concise and well-written / verbal narrative to address it
  • Raise the bar through passion for external communications, willingness to take risk, impeccable judgment, and logic and care in decision-making
  • Roll up sleeves and get work done, even when at times it’s outside the scope of the job
  • Exercise extremely high judgment, particularly in narrow timeframes.
  • Effectively represent Amazon as a spokesperson
  • BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications or related field
  • 7+ years of communications within a multi-national company or agency
  • Media / Influencers relations or crisis management background is required
  • Fluency in English and Portuguese
  • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience building robust communications programs and delivering results
  • Fluency in Portuguese, English and ideal Spanish and ability to develop communications
  • Exemplary written and oral communications skills
  • Internal or external communications experience with multi-national companies
  • Strategical thinking and communications the ability to formulate a clear point of view on complicated issues and create a concise and well-written / verbal narrative to express it
  • Ability to exercise high judgment and persuasion, particularly in narrow time-frames
  • Develop creative, effective approaches to difficult communications challenges
  • Creativity and the ability to develop fresh concepts for generating media coverage
  • Issues management experience at a global company or public relations agency ideally a large and well-known brand
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment
  • Experience creating metrics to measure communication effectiveness, message adoption, and engagement
  • Comfortable dealing with ambiguity and able to form a cohesive and effective outcome from potentially incongruous facts (or lack thereof) and individual perspectives
  • Possess a strategic approach to problem solving; able to anticipate potential reputational issues
  • Willing to get work done, even when at times it’s outside the scope of the job
  • High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities
  • Pay painstaking attention to important details
