E3 Engineer (NL-20-161) : A minimum of five years of experience is required for this position. The objective of the Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) effort to support CDR is to develop the Bonding, Grounding, Lightning, Indirect Affects and EMC Support Data while also supporting design development through analysis of design layout artifacts and validation of design compliance to system requirements.
The Candidate shall : Coordinate with design teams on design configuration and layout design intent with respect to Electromagnetic EffectsAttend Virtual Product Reviews as needed to understand design, analysis, and pending changesSupport Full Kit and Products Due milestones by providing Electromagnetic Effects compliance statements and required layout checklists to support layout closure andUpdate the D201-10175-1 Bonding and Grounding Data document and the D201-10084-1 E3 Control Plan to support CDRElectrical Bonding Information shall contain : Element interface engineering drawings which include material selection, corrosion protection strategy and process (conversion coating, nickel plating, etc.
and physical specifications / dimensions of bonding surface.Lightning Indirect Effects Information shall contain : Element lightning actual transient level analysis.
Element lightning indirect effects qualification information (test procedure, test levels, and waveforms selected for each Avionics item).
EMI Qualification Test and / or analysis Reports shall contain : EMI reports that contain SLS Program Level 2 required verification which shall be delivered to SLS Vehicle Integration.
Required : Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and five years of experience. Must have knowledge of MIL-STD-461.Heavily Preferred : Knowledge of MIL-STD1576 and NASA-STD-4003.
Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen. A secret security clearance is not required; however, candidate must be able to pass a background check.
