DIRECTOR of TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT
The Director of Training & Development continuously challenges, improves, and refines the impact of T-ROC’s training program delivery throughout the organization.
Through garnering the support of T-ROC’s executive team and sales leadership, the Director of People Success shapes the creation, evolution, management and execution of T-ROC’s training strategies to support employee development, employee retention, and the achievement of strategic business goals.
The Director of People Success reports to the Vice President of Sales Enablement.
Lead the development of T-ROC’s training programs including instructional design, learning journeys, strategy, and execution.
Work closely with program leaders and field organizations to address development gaps and design and execute high-impact, scalable learning experiences shaped by business needs.
Oversee program management for employee development programs including management and leadership development initiatives.
Assess training and development needs and determine initiatives needed to support divisions in achieving their business goals
Develop and deliver training programs that align with T-ROC’s long term strategic focus areas with emphasis on consistency and scalability, T-ROC’s culture and values, the employee experience, and increased employee retention.
Develop business plan to monetize and market T-ROC’s training services to new and existing clients.
Build strong partnerships with cross functional teams, business leaders and stakeholders. Be a role model for our values and exceptional collaboration, including being present in the field while driving alignment and clear fact-based decision making.
Work with Training Development Manager overseeing the instructional design team to manage client expectations and prioritization of incoming work requests and requirements
Work with the instructional design team to produce quality coursework / programs that are adapted to the audience including : facilitator scripts / notes, leader guides, participant materials, multi-media scripting, videos, podcasts, e-learning modules, supplementary resource tools, and all participant and stakeholder communications.
Work with People Success Managers to help build and deliver customized sales solutions, management programs, and other key business initiatives as needed.
Work with training team to insure resources are cross-trained and able to effectively support multiple programs as efficiently as possible.
Lead the design and delivery of post-program, follow-up support tools / processes; build and execute a measurement strategy to align program outcomes with business impact.
Proactively manage and track key dates, events, and communications.
Apply change management theory, best practices, and processes to lead small and large-scale change associated with new learning solutions as needed.
Assess the teaching abilities of employees assigned to teach to ensure that all materials cover the needs of the employees and that the desired principles and skills are being taught in the most effective, impactful ways possible.
This includes fostering a culture of learning’ within T-ROC throughout the entire organization.
10+ years’ experience in a training-focused role, including Learning & Development experience in a leadership capacity or peripheral experience.
Retail store experience and sales leadership strongly preferred. Wireless and telecom industry experience a huge plus.
Solid understanding of adult learning theory and its effective application to the business
Solid understanding of current and training industry technology trends and their application in order to build strategy, drive efficiencies, and maximize training effectiveness
High degree of integrity and confidentiality with a keen sense of business acumen
Able to work under stringent deadlines and high pressure and be able to prioritize a heavy workload with multiple deadlines.
Ability to work autonomously and with flexibility while directing the instructional design and facilitation teams to support the business accordingly.
Experience managing, motivating and engaging a remote working team
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Comfort in delivering to senior management at all levels of the organization
A passion for Learning & Development and respect for field organizations and the challenges associated with leading them
Strong verbal and written communication skills that can adapt based on the audience with varying degrees of reliance on technology
Demonstrated ability to set strategy, define programs and deliver content
Proficiency in using technology to leverage Learning & Development and using data and analytics to measure program outcomes
Able to seamlessly navigate between the big picture and the details, and between hands-on and strategic
Proficiency in MS Microsoft computer applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and presentation skills needed
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to travel (50% or more)
