Primary Job Responsibilities
Build / Lead / Manage a team of developers on both new development and issue fixing. Coach direct staff towards career goals, assign tasks, and monitor performance.
Engage hands-on in technical design discussions and advise / unblock developers when they hit roadblocks.
Guide technical strategy with consideration for the latest trends and technologies.
Ensure high quality code via design reviews and code reviews.
Work closely together with Project Managers, Architects and QA. This includes participating in project planning, grooming, scrum and demos.
Work closely with other teams that support product dependencies.
Work closely with Operations / SRE / Technical Support with issue escalations.
Report status on project deliverables to upper management and mitigate risks as they arise.
Present best practice and design strategies to an audience of developers (internal and external) in small group settings and conferences.
Lead strategy to refactor client-server based custom applications to Next Generation platform APIs.
Required Skills & Experience
BS / BA in computer science, engineering or related degree. MS degree is a plus.
4+ years of management experience with 10-15years of overall engineering experience
Excellent leadership skills working with and resolving people related issues, as well as technical challenges.
Solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle
Strong knowledge of Microsoft related technologies, including C#, ASP.NET MVC, and Web API
Solid background working with REST and SOAP web services
Strong project management experience with complex projects
Excellent communication skills and close attention to detail

Experience with performance testing and monitoring
Experience with offshore development / QA
Experience working in mortgage or other financial related industry
