What you'll do
Being a strong partner to the Data Team, as a Cassandra Engineer, you will support Database Platform Engineering in the architecture, development, and deployment of Cassandra technology in high SLA environments.
This includes, but is not limited to, advanced to expert engineering and implementation of the requirements of the vacancy.
Responsibilities
Install, configure, monitor, upgrade and maintain Cassandra databases in production and non-production environments
Manage, support, and maintain database technology and infrastructure, adhering to the architectural guidelines and policies
Physical implementation of databases, storage structures, high-availability solutions, replication, and disaster recovery solutions
Regular database capacity planning related to database growth and system utilization, trend analysis, predictive future database resource requirements, and the structured organized reporting of the same
Adapt business requirements, model data, and develop database specifications, tables, and element attributes
Ability to work well as a team and as an individual with minimal supervision
Requirements
2+ years of Cassandra / Scylla DBA experience
1+ year of prior contact with Python
1+ year of exposure to JavaScript
Experience in shell scripting
Ability to complete tasks independently
Bonus Points
Experience with data storage solutions, working with different databases (S3 or Mongo)
Knowledge designing event-driven applications (like Kafka)
