Company Description : Descomplica is a full service ed-tech platform that transfers Brazil’s education system online. As Brazil’s leading virtual classroom, Descomplica is a video-

based learning system, offering more than 30K videos and live courses to help students prep for university exams and professional certifications.

Almost 6 million students take ENEM each year and half of them use Descomplica to prepare, making it Brazil’s number one online classroom.

Through its website or mobile app, students access Descomplica's library of learning materials which include videos, study plans and tutoring resources.

Students spend an average of one hour per session, getting more than 7.5K questions answered in real time by teachers and engaging with each other to create study groups.

Last year, Descomplica students earned 106 more points than their peers on the ENEM exam. And earlier this year, FastCompany ranked Descomplica 3rd on its Most Innovative Company list for Latin American companies.

Position Description : The COO will assure relentless and efficient execution against Descomplica's corporate objectives.

The COO will own the results of the current categories (d / vestibulares, d / concursos, d / certificados, d / escola) with the help of Category Heads and will oversee ongoing operations with the objective of standardizing processes and procedures and freeing up the CEO to focus on strategic initiatives, external relationships, and long-

term vision. In short, the COO will simplify the work Descomplica does in order to provide the space and the opportunity needed for true innovation to take place.

Key Responsibilities and Deliverables : - Set comprehensive goals for performance and growth on a monthly and annual basis

  • Identify operational bottlenecks and fix them within 3 months
  • Transform communications from unscalable, synchronous, and exclusive (meetings) to highly scalable, asychronous, and open (documents available online and frequently consulted)
  • Improve team efficiency by 30%
  • Design systems and processes to support extensive and sustainable growth that are adopted in all functional departments and used for 2+ years
  • Create dashboards of data and metrics to evaluate performance of the operations of the company and the work of executives Skills & Qualifications : -
  • Sucess designing and implementing processes for a company or BU growing 4-10X in 2 years

  • Seniority and gravitas to be a peer to CFO and other C-level executives
  • Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities
  • Exceptional working knowledge of performance / operation metrics, their measurement, and their analysis
  • Experience establishing policies that promote company culture and vision
  • Excellent people skills
