Job Purpose

The Business Developer will be instrumental in developing RINA offering of an assigned services portfolio and / or within an assigned geographical coverage for the Certification Business Unit.

And cross selling in the areas Energy, Industry, Transport & Infrastructure and Certification.


Focused on contributing to the commercial performance of the RINA Certification through :

  • leading the role of the commercial development, supporting the Certification Executive VP in defining the commercial strategies to promote and to develop the BU business
  • maintaining and developing organizational culture, values and reputation in its specific area of activity and with all the involved staff, customers, suppliers, partners and regulatory / official bodies
  • achieving the commercial and economic objectives (budget, revenues and margins, and relevant cash flow and credit recovery) for specific areas including all innovative products and value-added services, as applicable
  • increasing commercial opportunities (e.g. find potential new customer, improving customer loyalty), identifying market opportunities to expand the customer portfolio
  • expanding, implementing, releasing, and continuously innovating the service and product portfolio according to strategic guidelines and business plan
  • reviewing and updating the pricing strategy and the pricing policy
  • identifying potential M&A opportunities
  • building and maintaining links with relevant stakeholders and industry associations with the aim to promote RINA Brand and to support the implementation of the Certification communication plan (e.
  • g. participation to events, fairs, advertisement)

  • developing a close relationship with the clients at all levels
  • creating, supporting, and implementing the account management strategy
  • ensuring the highest customer satisfaction
  • Knowledge and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree qualified in economics (preferred) or related discipline
  • 2 years’ experience in Business Develop Activities
  • Solid experience with roles concentrated in Business Development in the Certification Field.
  • A current personal network within the RINA Markets is a plus
  • Demonstrate a track-record of cultivating relationships with clients at every level of the organization
  • Knowledge in the main management system certification standards,
  • Experience and knowledge of relevant area of competence projects, not only in the Marine Sector
  • Experience preparing quotations, pre-qualifications, and tenders
  • Experience writing, appraising and negotiating detailed contracts and commercial agreements
  • Knowledge and understanding of industry quality requirements and HSE regulations etc.
  • Fluent / Advanced English Speaker
  • Spanish knowledge is a plus.
