Tier 1 Network Engineer to work within a highly experienced team with responsibility for technical delivery of solutions on routing, switching and security systems.
The Engineer will undertake configuration of Juniper, Cisco, and Arista networks systems, including NAT, BGP and L3 VPN.
Change request implementation, including opening and closure.
Creation of internal reports.
Specific support during market open hours.
Professional customer communication.
Fluent communication with operational teams.
Track of activities and transfer at the beginning and end of the shift.
Work in cooperation with other team members from the Technical Specialist group supporting Market Prizm products.
Key performance indicators (financial and non-financial)
Accurate reporting of activities
Successful implementation of customer requirements.
Positive customer feedback.
Proper documentation of solutions.
Positive feedback from Colt peering departments.
Capacity to coach rest of team members in technical leading areas.
Relationships and key contacts
Inside Colt, the candidate will liaise with the Senior team members, the Project Management team and the Capital Markets Service Desk.
Outside Colt, the candidate may become customer point of contact and will work together with customer counterpart technical peers.
Skills / Experience and Qualifications
Experience working with Cisco devices and L2 / L3 protocols.
Understanding about JunOS.
Ability to assimilate complex material and communicate effectively to others regardless of their technical knowledge
Capacity and interest to self-develop in those technical areas that require it.
Effective team player who leads by example
Ability to take ownership and demonstrate confidence
Logical approach to fault finding and troubleshooting
Customer Focused and good communication with all required parties, including internal / external network partners and customers
English First certificate (or equivalent B2) level required.
Juniper and Cisco certifications are desirable but not essentials.
Requirement to work on shift covering 24x6 with following distribution :
The shift covers 3 of every 5 Saturdays
