The role

Upstream is looking for a Product Innovation Manager, Advertising to work closely with our teams and guide the advertising product roadmap from conception to launch.

The role will report directly to the Product Innovation Director. Do you have what it takes to lead our Advertising strategy and develop technology and consumer experiences that optimize advertiser ROI while maximizing the value for Upstream inventory?

Can you act as single point of contact of product development teams, partners, and commercial advertising teams? Can you lead the commercial success of partner trials?

Key responsibilities

  • Define the product vision and roadmap for Upstream’s advertising platform; Coordinate with all internal stakeholders for alignment on priorities and timelines
  • Provide front line assessment of new partnership opportunities and advise commercial leadership in prioritizing which to progress.
  • Including, building relationships with third-party advertising partners, technology providers to develop an approach to maximizing ad revenue

  • Work with the wider internal advertising team towards achieving annual revenue and innovation targets
  • Liaise with commercial leadership and management in multiple markets to capture their requirements, update the innovation vision and keep the management team up to date
  • Lead and grow the build-up of effective campaign targeting solutions, impactful ad-experiences, and mutually beneficial pricing models, while continuously delivering on our partners’ high standards
  • Brainstorm with the team to design and define new features for Upstream advertising platform
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of products and solutions and act as a subject matter expert for your product area
  • Collaborate with agencies, advertisers, and tech partners to get feedback, analyze competitive landscape, potential partnerships, and opportunities
  • Requirements

  • 5+ years digital media and advertising experience
  • Strong knowledge of programmatic, video, mobile, native, rich media, audience data
  • Strong understanding of key dynamics impacting future shape of premium publisher monetization : off platform; data; ad blocking;
  • viewability; media agency strategies

  • Hands-on experience with Digital Advertising / Programmatic Tools such as Ad-Servers, CDPs, DMPs, DSPs, SSPs, Verification Tools is essential
  • Experience defining product roadmaps, building collaboratively with UX and technical peers, and shipping at scale. We seek proven ability to identify and articulate customer needs and market opportunities into business cases and then to translate these into clear product requirements and stories
  • Proven record of market leading innovation and delivery
  • Highly collaborative able to build consensus and deliver at pace amongst complex stakeholders
  • Truly understands the changing nature of the media industry mindset
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Strong problem-solving skills, willingness to roll up one’s sleeves, & interpersonal skills with keen ability to explain complex concepts across the organization
  • Self-driven, hard-working, and willing to make an impact
  • Able to perform under pressure and deliver results in a demanding and fast-paced environment
