The National Instruments Engineering Leadership Program (ELP) is designed for new engineering college graduates with strong leadership qualities who are interested in developing their careers in the areas of technical sales, technical marketing, systems services and support, and / or R&D product support.
New ELP Engineers benefit from extensive training programs, including training on National Instruments products and related technologies, our business strategies and systems, public speaking, instructor skills, our customers, and markets we serve.
Engineers at NI find that our relaxed and stimulating work environment, which includes working in small, focused teams, fosters the type of engineering innovation that leads to our many award-winning products.
Work from 18 months to three years to learn our products, customer needs, and markets. During this time, you interface between National Instruments and our customers to find creative and timely solutions to customers' technical issues as well as work on a variety of technical projects.
Through this technical support role and project work, you gain the critical depth and breadth in your technical skills required for you to grow your career successfully elsewhere within NI.
Work with mentors who will provide valuable coaching for success in ELP and in chosen future career path
Work cooperatively with many departments at NI, including R&D, Sales, Marketing, and Manufacturing. This broad exposure to the company during the ELP training period helps you evaluate and establish the direction you want to pursue in your NI career.
Participate in formal training programs designed to prepare you for a career at National Instruments, such as the ELP Foundation and Leadership Series, as well as Professional Development programs for Sales.
Examples of modules included are career self-management, selling skills, product marketing strategy, project management and many more.
Work on challenging projects related to your chosen career path, such as performing alpha or beta testing on new or recently enhanced products or developing a proof-
of-concept LabVIEW program to assist a Field Sales Engineer with a key customer.
Travel to conduct customer training courses, customer seminars, and give product presentations
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED :
Required qualifications & Skills :
Bachelor or Master of Science, with preferred majors in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science
Will consider majors in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Engineering Physics, Physics, or Robotics Engineering (or similar degree)
Minimum cumulative (overall) BS (GPA 3.0 US) (Average 8.6 Brazil)
Minimum cumulative (overall) MS (GPA 3.5 US) (Average 8.9)
Strong customer service attitude, work ethic and drive to succeed
Solid understanding of electronics, computers, and high-level programming languages (C, C++, etc.)
Passion for learning about and working with computer-industry and instrumentation technologies
Interest and skilled in writing on technical subject matter
Ability to take initiative and own tasks and projects
Persistently drive tasks and projects to completion
Problem-solve effectively; enjoy solving problems
Energetic, enthusiastic, positive outlook
Listen attentively and able to grasp fast-paced technical conversations
Strong interpersonal skills and work effectively in a group development environment
