Data Telecom Lead (NL-20-083) : The Data / Telecom Lead performs and directs duties on-site at Scott AFB in support of the US Transportation Command (TRANSCOM) Joint Enabling Capabilities Command (JECC) Command, Control, Communications, and Cyber (C4) Systems (C4S) Directorate (J6).
The individual provides essential Command, Control, Communications, and Collaboration Support (C5S) services to the JECC Commander in performance of the command’s mission to provide mission-tailored, joint capability packages to meet national security objectives.
The Data / Telecom Lead task lead supports the JECC C5S environment, which interface with numerous on-site and remote commercial, DoD, service, and common-user networks (i.
e., Secret Internet Protocol Router Network (SIPRNET), Non-secure Internet Protocol Router Network (NIPRNET), and Department of Defense Intelligence Information System (DODIIS) / Joint Worldwide Intelligence Communications System (JWICS)).
A successful candidate will be knowledgeable in voice and data communications and infrastructures along with associated devices, cabling, WIF and network administration.
They will lead the task relating to the administration and management of Vocie and Data Telecommunications Systems including ensuring services are delivered effectively and efficiently, to include fulfilling user requests, resolving service failures, fixing problems, as well as carrying out routine operational tasks.
Specific tasks include : Public Switched Telephone Network Building Voice Telecommunications (Legacy) : Responsible for the legacy building telephone system (assigning numbers, submitting TSRs, punching down lines not covered by base level support).
Perform Telephone Control Officer duties as required by telephone service provider directives, policies, and / or procedures.
Wireless Voice / Data Telecommunications : Act as the service owner / manager responsible for wireless voice and data devices (acquiring, provisioning, managing, maintaining, Tier 1 and 2 level servicing, assigning, receiving, and wiping devices)Personal Satellite Communications : Responsible for personal satellite communications system (acquiring, provisioning, Tier 1 level servicing, assigning, receiving, and wiping devices as appropriate).
Secure and Unclassified Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) Telecommunications : Responsible for all Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) telephone systems (acquiring, provisioning, user level servicing, assigning, receiving, and installing devices)Network Devices : Work closely with network service providers to install, configure, and manage network-enabled devices and associated software.
Installs, configures, updates, manages, and removes network devices as coordinated with service providers.Cabling Infrastructure : Responsible for configuration and change management to include installation, modification and removal of cabling infrastructure regardless of media type.
Installs, repairs, and removes data, broadcast, and voice cables regardless of media types (twisted pair, fiber, coaxial).
Garrison Wi-Fi Capabilities : In conjunction with service provider(s), responsible for efforts to install, configure, deliver, maintain, support, and remove Wi-Fi systems.
Provide Tier 2 support for Wi-Fi Systems. Controlled Interfaces / Security Devices : Work closely with Computer Network Defense Service Providers (CNDSP) to install, configure, and manage network security and controlled interface devices and associated software.
Install, configure, update, manage, and remove controlled interfaces / security devices as coordinated with service providers.
Performance Monitoring : Monitor network infrastructure performance to identify shortfalls and / or problems with the network.
Using authorized performance measure techniques and tools, monitors the network performance and reports issues within 2 hours of discovery to the government.
Required : Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Network Administration or a related discipline with 6+ years of prior relevant experience or a Master’s Degree with 4 years of experience.
Desired : Prior DoD Experience and DoD 8570.01 IAM III certification : CISM, CISSP (or Associate), GSLC, or CCISO.Candidate must be a U.
