GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

Accomplish quality assurance operational objectives by auditing processes, conducting product analysis, and documenting results for other shifts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform part, product, and process audits and first piece inspection layouts.
  • Perform incoming inspections for outside supplier parts and services.
  • Communicate findings and opportunities for improvement to Manufacturing and Quality.
  • Conduct data mining and data analysis.
  • Prepare quality reports.
  • Perform functional, mechanical, and electrical testing per engineering specifications.
  • Calibrate gauges, tools, and lab equipment as required.
  • Perform engineering and reliability testing to qualify parts, assemblies, and products.
  • Understand and follow the Jackson site’s safety and environmental policies.
  • Work well with others and be a team player.
  • Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
  • QUALIFICATIONS

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and / or ability required.

    KEY COMPETENCIES AND ATTRIBUTES

  • Must be detail-oriented
  • Must possess good problem solving skills
  • Must be able to read blueprints and interpret Engineering specifications and standards
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts, such as probability & statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry
  • Must be able to identify and resolve a problem in a timely and efficient manner including exploring alternate solutions
  • Must be able to manage multiple priorities
  • Must possess good listening and comprehension skills
  • Must keep others adequately informed
  • Must offer assistance and support to co-workers
  • Must actively work to resolve conflicts
  • Must be self-motivated and work well in fast-paced situations
  • Must be able to work safely and use required PPE
  • Familiarity with GD&T is a plus
  • EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Must have at least 1 year of related manufacturing experience
  • 2+ years previous experience as a Quality Inspector, Quality Auditor, Quality Technician, and / or Machinist is preferred
