Casualty Treaty Underwriter reports to the Chief Underwriting Officer of Munich Re Brazil, working together in a team of underwriters of casualty, property, marine, agro and credit risks.
You will be responsible for underwriting casualty treaties, including pricing and negotiation with clients. Maintain close relationship with the Headquarter in Munich to ensure Group guidelines, strategy and profitability standards, as well as with local internal stakeholders, such as Client Management, Innovation, Claims and Back Office departments, to maintain and develop a profitable portfolio.
Actively contribute to the development of MR Brazil Casualty treaty operation by :
Guaranteeing the profitability of the portfolio, through underwriting, pricing, negotiation and monitoring of the casualty reinsurance treaties, verifying their technical feasibility as well as the wording and acceptance conditions, aligned with the company guidelines and risk appetite.
Monitoring the results of the treaties under own responsibility, evaluating management reports, internal and external data, aiming to identify the need of possible corrective measures.
Identifying, pursuing and developing new business, though a close contact to the market and understanding the needs and also being aware of the several internal solutions in place within the group.
Contributing to our treaty underwriting activities, performing market analysis, studies and calculations to support treaty pricing and the development of solutions to our clients? needs.
Hands on approach, being involved in all operational processes of treaty management cycle.
Underwriting and management of motor facultative risks.
Supporting our internal clients (client management, back office, claims and auditors) by providing information and generating reports in respect of our business / portfolio.
Keeping close relationship to insurance companies and brokers, aiming to understand their operation, their needs, discuss technical topics and negotiate treaties.
Frequent interface with the head office in Munich to exchange about local and foreign developments, internal and external topics.
Identifying potential efficiency gains within internal processes, presenting ideas / solutions that promote performance improvements.
Bachelor?s Degree in Actuary, Statistics, Economy or Business Administration
Strong analytical, communication and collaboration skills
Curious, enthusiastic, with keen interest in understanding our business and market needs in order to support the team in creating solutions for the customer?s needs
